Hold on a second.... New discovery!
Thyroid actually is important.
It secretes growth hormones as well as other hormones, not just the pituary gland. So if you have hyperthyroidism, you may be subjected to slower / less growth.
so what should we do then?
17 yrs old, will be 18 in january
starting height: 164cm (october 3 2008)
goal: 5'7+
dream:5'9 (who knows)
deadline: when i turn 19, if still nothing i give up

Yes,
Milk helps, no doubt about that, sometimes, we don't really need to get so skeptical about things like cow's milk is for cows and things like that, if that is the case, I might just ask a doctor pass a verdict that only human milk helps humans.
One example are the Dutch, as far as I know, they do drink lots of milk and cheese and look at them today.

Meh, i share the exact same experiences. At one point i was drinking 4-5 cups of milk a day and noticed no differences within a month. Then again I had already passed my growth spurt so now i have to try some non conventional methods to grow taller =(

A common misconception commited by some people is that they seem to think that milk is ultimate, with milk, they can laze around all day. That is wrong.
Milk is something that provides you with nutrients that puts you in the best condition for growing, it is not meant to be a magical substance meant for growing tall w/o doing nothing, drinking milk is optimal, but so is good sleep and exercise.
I have seen people who blame their short stature to milk, they claim that they drank a litre of milk everyday and still did not grow much. When asked, they said they never do exercises and play games all day long.
Thats my opinion.

RE: Why I think Milk doesn't help you grow...
My first check up with my height is on the 14th November... Ive changed my routine quite a bit.. I used to eat a fair bit of carbs...
Now its atleast 500mL milk & lots of exercise. Mainly walking and cycling. I dont want to stretch though, because I want to acheive growth permanently rather than get false hope from an inch ill gain from stretching =]
But the thing is... its not the milk that helps. Its the calcium.
So yoghurt, cheese, milk (all kinds), almonds, broccoli, salmon (bones... the circley ones x])... Also in the low calorie kinds of cheese like ricotta and cottage... Riccota is better. Cottage cheese... by the time youve eaten like 100g of it, its the same amount as a 30g piece of normal cheese (the calcium & calories).
14 & 8 months, Female
Height: 4'11
Mum: 4'11
Dad: 5'6
Goal: 5'2 or 5'3
Dream: 5'6 xD

So ... You think stretching can't get you permanent height ?

It is the milk that helps, everything in there helps in HI, not just the calcium. Logically speaking, you're right.

Mmm. But does puberty have something to do with height?
Like are there people who have normal puberty but have their spurt later than average, or is it all to do with puberty?

I think puberty is the reason!
It seems though that most are done growing by 16.5 years of age for a boy and 14.5 for a girl.
Starting Height: 5'8 -172cm (On the 3rd August 2008)
Current height: 5'9 -175cm-
Goal height: 5'11 -180cm-
Dream height 6' (182cm)
Age : 17 Years
