Jumping on a Trampoline
I'm 16 and I recently got a large outdoor trampoline. How do you think jumping on the trampoline a lot will affect my growth? Thanks

RE: Jumping on a Trampoline
I've heard some positive feedbacks from people who had tried jumping exercises for height growth. Moreover, an article that I've read regarding correlation of light pressure to the bone caused by jumping and height growth suggests as long as your growth plates are open, these pressures to the bone will promote longitudinal bone growth.
So yeah trampoline is a good exercise for height growth given that your growth plates are open. Gender/Age: Male/16 Current Height: 5' 7.5" Goal: 5' 10" My routines: Good diet, good sleep, skipping, and push-ups Routines started: May 2009 |

RE: Jumping on a Trampoline
Also, when you reach the peak of your jump your weightless. When your at the lowest point on the bed, your 2x as heavy as you are on earth. The difference strengthens every cell in your body and could be considered a form of resistance training.

RE: Jumping on a Trampoline
It wont really effect your growth in any way. You may be weightless in the air for that one split second, but, like Willhu has said, when you impact, it's 2x more powerful. This will most likely just compress the spine. Ever notice after jumping on a trampoline for a while, your lower back feels sore? Mostly muscle soreness, and a little compressing soreness. It wont make you short, since that is nearly impossible, but I really doubt it will cause an increase in height.
