Hey guys, I'm new and I came looking for some advice..
Well I'm 14 1/2 years old, about 126-128 pounds and I'm really having trouble with height. I'm about 5'3 / 5'4 and that's considered short in my school, which is really giving me stress. I'd really appreciate it if you guys gave me some specific advice on how to get taller.
I haven't been growing since last year, and I hate to say this but I started smoking(3-5 cigarettes a day) around that time and quit just about 2 months ago. I'm guessing that's part of the reason for my stunted growth, and I hope I can start growing really soon. I've done cross country, wrestling & swimming, and i'm starting to get into basketball, but I hate going to the gym because theres always a lot of good people and I am just starting. Right now, my sleeping patterns are about 11-12PM to 7AM and on the weekends, 11PM-1AM to 10-12 AM.I try to focus on good posture throughout the day. I think my torso is pretty small. By the way, I have mild scoliosis =/. To sum it up, I'd like to learn about: -If I should do wrestling again next year, I've noticed that a lot of wrestlers are short and I'm wondering if it is bad for growing. -If I should take up swimming or running, I hear that these two are great for height growth. -What kind of day & night exercises/stretches can I do? -If that period of smoking would have stunted my growth forever..... ): -If inversion tables can be used to help promote growth (my mom got me one b/c of my scoliosis) and if so, how? -If any aspect in my lifestyle pattern can be harmful to my growth. -If pushing your muscles too hard / getting really buff is bad at an early age -I know my sleeping patterns are bad, when should I be sleeping? -Any things I should constantly think about throughout the day. -Any other things I should do to help me grow taller. It would make my soul happier if you guys helped me out. Thanks. |

Wrestlers are wrestlers because they are short, not vise versa.
The gym is good, but NEVER be discouraged because there's someone a little better than you! PLEASE NOTE: I am on an indefinate hiatus from GTForum.
