Height gain possible at 18?
Hi guys, I'm 18 this year and I stand at 5ft 7in. My mom and dad are 5ft 1in and 5ft 6in tall respectively. In an effort to gain 2 inches, I have started on a daily stretch routine a week before, gaining 0.5 inches in the process.
In addition to this stretch routine, I started jogging, practising the yoga's sun salutation routine, lifting weights and jumping, after reading somewhere that guys continue growing till the age of 21. So the question is, would I be able to stand at 2 inches taller at the age of 18 or would I remain at just 5ft 7in? And if I were to grow taller, would the growth be permanent? Also, what other routines would you guys suggest? |

RE: Height gain possible at 18?
It is possible yeah, but at 18 maybe 1 inches, but maybe 2inches too.
The growth will be permanent if your bones are growing too, otherwise only with stretching it'il stay temporaly. Starting Heigh [Morning - Evening]: 174Cm - 172Cm Current 16. November 2010 [Morning - Afternoon & Evening] 178 - 177 & 176Cm Time Goal Evening / Long Time Goal: 178Cm - 5feet 10inches / 183Cm - 6'0 |

RE: Height gain possible at 18?
Depends on weather your epiphyseal plates in your long bones have matured or not. HGH makes you grow taller buy generating more cartilage in the epiphyseal plates (on the ends of your bones). Sex hormones (estrogen for the most part) will cause edochondrol ossification, whereby cartilage is replaced by bone. This is, by the way, one of the problems with taking steroid when you are not fully matured, you will stunt your growth. The two hormones are basically racing each other, one laying down the cartilage and increase the length of the long bones (femur, humurus, etc..). While the sex hormones are converting to bone. Once the plates are fully covered over with bone, HGH will not increase the length of the bone but will increase the diameter of the bone. This happens on occasion to people who produce too much and it is a condition called acromegaly, basically they look like cavemen. There are tooo many variables to give you a straight answer, if you want to make sure you are getting enough natural hGH, just make sure you get plenty of rest...

Yes, it's possible. But based on your parents' heights, not genetically. You'll have to do intense exercise to stimulate growth hormone and get plenty of sleep.
