u r wrong. the dutch eat more meat and diary and are the tallest people in the world. we asians eat 10x more fruit and veges than u americans and we are much shorter. it is healthy eating strectching and being actice and a young age that makes you grow . it is a proven fact. my friends play many sports and dont sleep or eat healthy much and they tower me.

That's the only contradicting part for most people, but the dutch have genes that allow them to grow tall, and like I said, yeap there are different factors.
Asians are short because of our poor genes, just look at the amount of slavery/war we go through in history and look at how strong and how well endowed the Dutch are with their peaceful lives.
Their old generations eat plenty of good food, while we Asians were scrambling on the floor just to pick up a few grains of rice during the war times and in the past,
If our great grandfathers, and grandfathers were bloody malnutrition, it affects the gene pool and the gene variability which mutates to code for short height because with a shorter height, we require less nutrition.
You really have to account of different stuff besides diet, all I'm covering here is diet, and nothing else. And meat and dairy does have TONS of proteins and IGF-1s that require growth and is essential.
Probably the Dutch consuming them over the years help developed a mutation in their genes to it, and are neglected to the estrogen causing harm to their bodies, only absorbing whats good and not whats bad.
Who knows right?

RE: Diet: Estrogen, Growth Hormone And IGF-1 Relationship
I know people like reading in points and not small paragraphs so I'm going to share what I learn about diet and height, its quite simple actually but just to clarify this for those who don't know, and since there are alot of people out there getting wrong info:
1. Estrogen causes the early fusion of growth plates ( I'm talking about excessive estrogen ), That's why girls stop growing faster.
This we all know
2. Milk contains estrogen, which means it'll add to the earlier fusion of growth plates, and so does cheese, dairy products, and meat, and a whole list of foods. Just google it
This, we should also know.
3. What we don't really take into notice is, Growth speed, and Final Growth height.
4. Know why milk and cheese and more protein (meat) is recommended to see results of growth?
Of course its recommended. Because it speeds up your growth speed, but at the same time, it causes your bones to fuse earlier and this in turns means your final growth height is decreased.
(YoungWeatherMan, this are all not copied and paste from sites and are from knowledge read from several sites)
5. In conclusion, by drinking tons of milk and eating loads of proteins, it will allow you to see significant results of growth (if your plates haven't fused), but you don't take into account that by growing faster (then others), you are actually lowering your maximum potential height.
( I was on a milk+meat pro diet, so probably i grew abit, albeit the fact that I was unaware of this, so now I'm TOTALLY regretting what I did)
6. So urmm you ask, then how do I grow slowly and maximize my height potential?
7. Anti-Aromatase Food. Estrogen Inhibiting food (google it and you'll find some resources)
Note: This is only the DIET part of growing taller, we all know that there are several factors such as stress... exercise, so please do not state that you haven't grown although you've been eating no meat and no diary (which i doubt anyone has, except vegetarians)
8. Real Life Evidence: To allow myself to believe what I was reading, I recalled my vegetarian friend being Extremely tall (An Indian though...) 190cm. So I was like hmm? How did those vegetarians get their proteins and calcium and all? I mean, isn't what we're suppose to consume LOADS of milk and LOADS of meat, recommended by 'them' traditions?
9. Urmm. No. From what I read, in the olden days [you can go google this too, sorry I'm just not a fan of citing what I read, and its up to you to believe what I'm typing if it does or does not make sense to you, but I'm just sharing what I'm learning. And P.s I'm totally tired of hearing of people who think they KNOW-IT-ALL (even though they do with a few correct information), and telling me I'm wrong blablabla, Yeah Whatever, I don't think this forum should be about putting someone down, but about sharing, so this is the only reason why I'm doing this, so you can learn from my mistakes) And those that ever say I am promoting vegetarianism... please get a brain.] sorry for the long break start here>people usually have their puberty in the later age say 15. Now people start puberty even at 11/10! For example, the puberty stage of girls age have been decreasing throughout the years, because people have been eating more and more processed food such as diary and have access to more and more meat, therefore they have more estrogen in their body, causing the speed up of growth and lowering the puberty age. This applies to boys too.
10. All in All, I would say, eat your greens, don't drink too much milk and cheese, and eat less meat. MORE GREENS! Look and find the list of estrogen inhibiting foods, and you'll be growing slowly but soon you'll be taller than the average kid (sorry if this sounds immature, its just how I phrase my terms)
- BUT. Wait? How can people be so stupid and not realize this till now?-
Besides Milk containing tons of estrogen, it also contains IGF-1. IGF-1 is what promotes growth hormones production (or is it the other way round? Okay whatever I forgot but you get my point, nerds please do not criticize me on this)
So people recommend drinking milk because it does contain something beneficial.
But What If I don't want estrogen with IGF-1?
Take Bovine Colostrum Supplement. Contains Loads of IGF-1 and only a slant amount of estrogen. Which means your getting the most out of the whole situation.
In conclusion:
Estrogen - Causes early fusion of growth plates
Human Growth Hormone - Helps you grow taller (but usually come with Estrogen in cases like milk)
IGF-1 - Promotes HGH.
Which means - Eat greens, Don't eat too much meat, Dairy and take bovine colostrum.
Okay Glad I'm done. Questions? O and by eating loads of greens and ignoring meat and diary products, u might be lacking other nutrients. Try super Green foods like Chorella and Spirunlina (not sure if both of this is spelt correctly)
O and I've just re-read what I wrote, loads of spelling errors, hope you'll excuse that.
All the best in growing btw!
That was rad!
Thanks!
