I drink milk around 2 hour before sleep. Milk, especially skim milk contain high protein.
It will surely stimulate growth, but there is a less evidence that if you drink milk you will be tall.
Milk is lack of vitamins, you can only get lots of vitamins by eating fruit and veggie.

With casein i mean casein powder, the one which bodybuilders take. Milk is 80% procent casein and 20% whey, so it's a good source for casein, but it's not enough for musclegrowth and growth stimulation of the body. For that you need to take casein powder before bedtime. But this is my opinion at itWink

You're an idiot if you think that consuming some sort of food source of casein before bed is not going to benefit muscle growth. The trick is to not just drink one glass of milk, but rather 2-3 with yoghurt, cottage cheese, etc. You'll get the protein you want with the other benefits of the dairy products. I'm not saying casein protein powder isn't a good thing, I do use it in my breakfast and drink it through out the day.

Read what I have said! I said 1 glass of milk is not enough for muscle growth. I said casein powder is the best option, because if you want to get te amount of casein in casein powder with yoghurt, cottage cheese etc. you need to eat very huge amounts. All source of casein is good for muscle growth, but only 1 glass of milk is not enough.

I blend 1/2 a cup of cottage chese with 2 cups of milk and a tablespoon of almond butter before bed - muscles feel firmer after literally a week.

PLEASE NOTE: I am on an indefinate hiatus from GTForum. Nothing personal, just another project I've been working on since Summer '10. My account WILL reamain open - but please don't send PMs for advice until (and if) I return.

GOOD LUCK ALL HEIGHT SEEKERS!

I did read what you said and you did not mention only drinking one glass of milk. You do not need to eat very large amounts. Just one serving of cottage cheese has 16 grams of protein. While a serving of casein has 24. So two servings of cottage cheese and a glass or two of milk will put you way over what the protein powder would do for you. Ontop of being cheaper, you get the other vital nutrients supplied in dairy products, a few of which are highly beneficial to growth. And if you're one to lift weights for height and muscle growth, then the surplus of overall calories in consuming the foods will only help you more.
