Hey guys i just joined this forum last night. I came across this website while i was researching on things i should do to promote growth.

I'm 17 years old, but will turn 18 in about 2 months. I'm about 5 '8 1/2 ish (174cm), asian american (korean specifically). My dream height is at least 5 '11 (180cm). I had my growth spurt later then all of my friends. I'm pretty much labeled as the "late bloomer", because I'm always late when it comes to your body maturing. I also went to a endocrinologist to check if my growth plates were open or not. Luckily they are, but they are starting to close. He estimated me to be at least between 175-178 cm.

I hope to grow to my dream height or maybe even go beyond it. Please drop me some comments on what i can do ^^. Thanks guys & i hope we all can achieve our heights !!

What height are your parents may I wonder and did your dad or siblings grow late?

My dad is 5'9 and my mom is around 5'3. I am not sure if my mom or dad had a late growth spurt. Although, as a youth i was told from many people that i was going to be over 180+ cm. I think that during my crucial growing stages, I lacked the nutrition that i needed because i would never eat lunch at school and always be on a empty stomach. I pretty much skipped lunch for the past 2 years in high school. However the endocrinologist told me that my bone age is about 15 1/2 years old (I am 2 months away from being 18 yrs old), and that if I were to be on a healthy diet with the right nutrients, I can raise my bone age to the right age and still grow a lot. Do you think that is logical and that it can possibly happen?

I have a friend who was around your height when he was your age. He is now 21 and 6ft 1/2in and still growing!!! He is also Asian and a late bloomer. His doctor told him he wouldn't be more than 5'10 but that didn't turn out to be true.

So my advice is don't give up hope and get the right nutritions and exercises. A good vitamin to take is Niacin as it boosts your HGH level. Drink a lot of milk. Skim milk is better because it increases your IGF-1 more than whole milk.

Since its summer im playing a lot of basketball, running a lot, and sleeping at least 10+ hrs each night. I also started taking Melatonin and Niacin, and drinking a gallon of low fat milk a week. I will start drinking skim milk as you mentioned.

seanx123, thank you for your wishes. As for my friend, one particular thing he told me he does is drink a lot of Ensure and Boost ever since middle school. What I notice was he was only 4'6 at 11 and that was when he started drinking Ensure and Boost. At that time, he was predicted to be no taller than 5'6 or 5'7. Now, he's almost 6'1. I would give these nutritional drinks a try.
